Water, Fire, Mold & Storm Damage Restoration for Doraville Homes, Apartments and Businesses

Doraville sits between our Norcross base and the Perimeter — a few minutes down Buford Highway or Peachtree Industrial. When a 1950s pipe fails in Northwoods, a kitchen fire fills a Buford Highway restaurant with smoke, or a garden apartment floods from the unit above, one team responds 24 hours a day and stays through cleanup, drying, repairs and full reconstruction.

Doraville is one of the 21 markets in our core service area — the postwar neighborhoods, the apartment communities, the restaurants and the warehouses alike. (404) 983-0966, any hour.

  • Oakcliff — 1960s ranches and split-levels, annexed in 1958
  • Tilly Mill — the city’s oldest neighborhood, bungalows and ranches with new infill
  • Guilford Village — Doraville’s first subdivision, at Tilly Mill and Flowers Roads
  • Doraville MARTA district & New Peachtree Road — the old downtown and City Hall area
  • Assembly — the former GM plant site, now studios and mixed-use
  • Buford Highway corridor — international restaurants, markets and apartment communities
  • Peachtree Industrial Boulevard — restaurants, offices, warehouses and light industry
  • Winters Chapel & the Dunwoody line — Doraville addresses in 30360

Why local knowledge matters

What Puts Doraville Properties at Risk

Seventy-year-old plumbing, dense apartment living, busy commercial kitchens and a creek that runs through the middle of town: Doraville’s losses follow its map.

  1. Postwar homes and original plumbing

Northwoods, Oakcliff and Tilly Mill went up in the late 1940s through the ’60s. Where galvanized supply lines, cast-iron drains and the original water heater are still in service, slow leaks behind walls, slab leaks and sewer backups follow — and crawl spaces hold moisture all summer. See water damage repair and mold remediation.

  2. Apartment and condo communities

Doraville has one of the highest shares of renters and multifamily housing in north DeKalb, much of it in older garden-style complexes along Buford Highway and Peachtree Industrial. A failed washer line or water heater upstairs is a loss on every floor below. We work unit by unit and within management requirements — see multifamily & commercial restoration.

  3. Restaurant kitchens, warehouses and studios

Buford Highway and Peachtree Industrial carry hundreds of restaurants, plus warehouses, distribution and light industry. Kitchen fires, smoke that travels through shared strip-center attics, and sprinkler discharges in big open buildings all need a fast, documented commercial response. See fire & smoke damage and smoke damage restoration.

  4. Crooked Creek, slabs and storm runoff

Crooked Creek, a tributary of the Chattahoochee, runs right through the city, and many postwar homes sit on slabs or shallow crawl spaces with little grade away from the house. Heavy rain means wet floors, wet ductwork and parking-level units under water — and the neighborhood oaks come down in spring storms. See flooding cleanup and storm damage.

A Few Things About Doraville

  • Older than you’d think

Doraville was incorporated by the Georgia General Assembly on December 15, 1871 — a railroad-stop farm town for its first 75 years.

  • The GM boom

General Motors opened its Doraville assembly plant after World War II, and the town grew from 472 people in 1950 to 6,160 by 1964. The plant closed in 2008.

  • Assembly

The old plant site is now Assembly, a film and television studio campus and mixed-use district that is becoming one of the largest production studios in Georgia.

  • A city with a song

The Atlanta Rhythm Section formed here at Studio One. Their 1974 single “Doraville” reached No. 35 on the Billboard charts.

  • International Doraville

Since the 1980s, immigrant-owned businesses on Buford Highway have made Doraville and Chamblee home to one of the largest Asian communities in the country; 56% of residents speak a language other than English at home.

  • End of the line

Doraville MARTA station opened in 1992 as the northeastern end of the Gold Line — on the site of the city’s original downtown.

Questions

Doraville Restoration FAQs

Do you serve Doraville addresses in 30360 outside the city limits?

Yes. Doraville’s ZIPs run well past the city line toward Dunwoody, Peachtree Corners and unincorporated DeKalb. If the address says Doraville — or it’s anywhere in our 21-market service area — we respond, 24 hours a day.

How quickly can Verus get to Doraville?

Doraville is one of our closest markets — a few minutes from our Norcross base down Buford Highway or Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. We’re open around the clock; call or text (404) 983-0966 and we’ll give you an honest arrival window and tell you what to do in the meantime.

I manage an apartment community on Buford Highway. Can you handle a multi-unit water loss?

Yes. We dry and restore each affected unit, document every unit separately for the property’s claim and the residents’ renter’s policies, coordinate access and communication with your office, and handle the repairs so residents can get back in. One point of contact for the whole loss.

I run a restaurant in Doraville. What happens after a kitchen fire?

We board up and secure the space, clean soot and smoke from the kitchen and dining room, handle odor removal, contents and equipment, and rebuild — phased so you can reopen as soon as possible, and documented for your commercial policy. If smoke reached neighboring bays in the strip center, we assess and treat those too.

My Northwoods house was built in the 1950s. What should I watch for?

Original galvanized supply pipes corrode from the inside and leak behind walls or under the slab; original cast-iron drains crack and back up; crawl spaces hold moisture. Low water pressure, warm spots on the floor, ceiling stains, slow drains and a musty smell are the early signs. Know where your main shut-off is, and call us the day you see water.

What should I do first if I find water or fire damage in Doraville?

Make sure everyone is safe, stop the source if you can do so safely (shut off the main water valve; after a fire, don’t touch soot or run the HVAC), photograph the damage, and call (404) 983-0966. We’re minutes away.

Doraville is a few minutes down Buford Highway from our front door. When something goes wrong at your property, you shouldn’t have to explain the neighborhood to the people fixing it.
