Water, Fire, Mold & Storm Damage Restoration for Snellville Homes, Subdivisions and Businesses

Snellville is out US-78 from our Norcross base — the crossroads where the Stone Mountain Freeway meets Scenic Highway, with the 1970s–90s subdivisions of south Gwinnett filling in around it from Centerville to the Grayson line. When a 1980s supply line fails above a finished basement off Lenora Church Road, a storm drops a pine on a roof in a Brookwood subdivision, or the Yellow River comes up into a crawl space on the west side, one team responds 24 hours a day and stays through cleanup, drying, repairs and full reconstruction.

Snellville is one of the 21 markets in our core service area — the Towne Center district, the swim-and-tennis subdivisions and the restaurants, offices and Eastside Medical Center along US-78 alike. (404) 983-0966, any hour.

Why local knowledge matters

What Puts Snellville Properties at Risk

Forty-year-old subdivisions on basements and crawl spaces, a river on one side and a creek on the other, and the busiest highway crossroads in south Gwinnett.

  1. 1970s–90s subdivisions and their plumbing

Nearly all of Snellville went up in a single 25-year burst. The 1970s homes have cast-iron drains and galvanized lines; the 1980s and ’90s ones have polybutylene supply pipe; all of them have water heaters past their lives. Failures happen behind walls and above ceilings. See water damage repair.

  2. Finished basements and crawl spaces

South Gwinnett is basement and crawl-space country. Failed sump pumps, grading that sends storm water to the foundation, water heaters downstairs and roots in the drain lines all land in the lower level — and a wet crawl space under a canopy stays wet. See basement flooding cleanup and mold remediation.

  3. The Yellow River and Big Haynes Creek

The Yellow River runs down Snellville’s west side and Big Haynes Creek down the east; the low lots along them flood after heavy rain. See water removal.

  4. Storms, pines and the US-78 corridor

Snellville’s pines are at full height and come down in spring storms and ice. Add the restaurants, shopping centers, hotels and the hospital along US-78 and Scenic Highway, and fire and commercial water losses round out the year. See storm damage, fire & smoke damage and commercial restoration.

A Few Things About Snellville

  • Two boys from London

Thomas Snell and James Sawyer were 17-year-old friends from London who emigrated in 1884 and opened a store at a crossroads then called New London. Sawyer opened the post office in 1885; the town took Snell’s name.

  • Everybody’s somebody

Snellville was chartered in 1923. Its motto — “Where Everybody’s Proud to be Somebody” — is on the water tower and the city seal.

  • The crossroads

US-78 runs 25 miles west to downtown Atlanta and 19 east to Monroe; GA-124 runs 7 miles north to Lawrenceville and 13 south to Lithonia. Snellville sits where they cross.

  • Parks

Briscoe Park is 100 acres on Lenora Church Road; Lenora Park adds 112 more with a disc golf course. The South Gwinnett Athletic Association runs six ball fields and 40,000 square feet of indoor rink space.

  • Snellville Days

The two-day Snellville Days festival each spring draws crowds from across the Southeast. City Hall at Oak Road and Main Street East was dedicated on March 12, 2006.

  • Four high schools

Brookwood, South Gwinnett, Shiloh and Grayson all serve Snellville addresses, and Piedmont Eastside Medical Center is the hospital for south Gwinnett. The city is 40% Black and 39% White, with a median age of 40.

Questions

Snellville Restoration FAQs

Do you serve Snellville addresses outside the city limits?

Yes — all of 30078 and 30039, from Centerville to the Grayson line. Most Snellville addresses are in unincorporated Gwinnett, and every one of them is in our core service area, 24 hours a day.

How quickly can Verus get to Snellville?

Snellville is out US-78 from I-285, or down Scenic Highway from Lawrenceville, from our Norcross base. We’re open around the clock; call or text (404) 983-0966 and we’ll give you an honest arrival window and tell you what to do in the meantime. Typical drive time from our Norcross headquarters is about 25–35 minutes in light traffic and 45–60 in rush hour.

My house was built in the late 1980s. Should I be worried about polybutylene pipes?

If the supply lines are gray plastic with crimp fittings, yes — have a plumber confirm. Polybutylene fails without warning, usually inside a wall or above a ceiling, so the first sign is a stain, a bubble in the paint or a jump in the water bill. Know where your main shut-off is, and if you find water, call us the same day; drying a wall cavity early is the difference between a repair and a rebuild.

My finished basement flooded. Is the carpet and drywall salvageable?

It depends on the water. Clean water from a supply line, caught within a day or two, can often be dried in place with the pad replaced. Groundwater, sewer backup or anything that sat for days usually means removing carpet, pad and the bottom of the drywall. We test the moisture, tell you honestly what can be saved, and document it for your claim either way.

A tree came through the roof. What happens first?

Get everyone out of the rooms under the damage and call us. We tarp and board the opening to stop the rain, remove water and wet materials, dry the structure, document everything for your claim, and handle the repairs and rebuild. If the tree is still on the house we coordinate the removal with the crane or tree service before the roof work starts.

What should I do first if I find water or fire damage in Snellville?

Make sure everyone is safe, stop the source if you can do so safely (shut off the main water valve; after a fire, don’t touch soot or run the HVAC), photograph the damage, and call (404) 983-0966. We’re on the way.

Snellville is a straight shot out the freeway from our front door. When something goes wrong at your property, you shouldn’t have to explain the subdivision to the people fixing it.
