Privacy Policy
What we collect when you contact us or hire us, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.
Effective October 20, 2026.
Privacy Policy
Plain-English summary: we collect what we need to respond to you, do the work and document it for your insurance claim — your contact details, what happened at the property, photos you send, and the usual website analytics. We share it with the people and tools that help us do the job, never sell it, and never share your mobile number or texting consent for anyone else’s marketing. Reply STOP to end texts; contact us to see, fix or delete what we hold. The full policy follows.
Who This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Verus Property Restoration, LLC, doing business as Verus Restoration (“Verus,” “we,” “us” or “our”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit verusrestoration.com (the “Site”), contact us by phone, text, email or form, or receive restoration services from us.
It applies to customers, prospective customers, property managers, tenants and other occupants of properties we work on, insurance professionals we deal with on your behalf, and visitors to the Site. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions. By using the Site or our services, you acknowledge the practices described here.
Information We Collect
Information you give us.
- Contact details — name, phone number, email address, mailing address and, for businesses, company name and website.
- Property and loss details — the property address, what happened, when, where the damage is, whether it is an emergency, and photographs, videos or documents you send us.
- Insurance information — your carrier, policy and claim numbers, adjuster contact details and claim correspondence, when you share them so we can document the work or communicate with your insurer.
- Communications — the content of your calls, texts, emails and form submissions with us.
- Payment information — billing name and address. Card and bank details are entered directly with our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
- Reviews and feedback you choose to provide.
Information we create while serving you — inspection notes, moisture readings, equipment logs, photographs of the property before, during and after work, contents inventories, estimates, invoices and job records.
Information collected automatically when you use the Site — IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, the page that referred you, and similar usage data, collected through cookies and similar technologies described in Section 6.
Information from other sources — your insurer, adjuster or property manager when they refer a loss to us or correspond about your claim; subcontractors and suppliers working on your job; public records such as county property records; and online directories and review platforms where you have posted about us.
How We Use Information
- Respond and dispatch — to answer your inquiry, assess the situation, schedule and dispatch crews, and tell you what to do before we arrive.
- Perform and document services — to carry out restoration, drying, remediation, cleaning, storage and reconstruction work, and to keep the records that work requires.
- Support your insurance claim — to prepare photographs, moisture logs, inventories and itemized estimates, and to communicate with your insurer or adjuster at your direction.
- Communicate with you — by phone, text message and email about your request, your job, scheduling, invoices and follow-up. Text messaging is described in Section 5.
- Billing and payment — to invoice, process payments and maintain accounting records.
- Improve the Site and our services — to understand how the Site is used, fix problems and decide what to publish.
- Marketing, with your permission — to send occasional emails or texts about our services if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Safety, security and legal compliance — to protect our crews, customers and systems; to prevent fraud; to meet record-keeping, tax, licensing and insurance obligations; and to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
How We Share Information
We share personal information only as needed to run our business and serve you:
- Service providers that work on our behalf under contract — our customer relationship, forms, scheduling and messaging platform; website hosting, content delivery and security services; analytics providers; email services; payment processors; accounting and document-storage tools. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Subcontractors and suppliers who help perform your job — for example a plumber, electrician, roofer, tree service, contents-storage facility or specialty cleaner — receive the property address, access details and job information they need.
- Your insurer, adjuster, mortgage company or property manager, when you ask us to or when it is necessary to document and get paid for covered work.
- Professional advisers — accountants, attorneys, insurers and auditors — under duties of confidentiality.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena or court order; to respond to a lawful government request; to enforce our agreements; or to protect the rights, property or safety of Verus, our customers, our crews or the public.
- Business transfers — if Verus is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
Text-messaging opt-in data is never shared for marketing. Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging consent collected for our SMS program are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share them only with the messaging platform that delivers our texts, as described above.
We do not use identifiable photographs of your home or business in marketing, case studies or social media without your separate permission.
Text Messaging
If you text us, give us your mobile number through a form and agree to receive texts, or reply to a message from us, we will send you text messages about your request and your job, as described in Section 7 of our Terms and Conditions. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. You will get one confirmation message and nothing further.
- Reply HELP, email [email protected] or call (404) 983-0966 for assistance.
- Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing any service.
- Photos and videos you text us become part of your job record and are handled under this Policy.
Cookies, Analytics and Tracking
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:
- Operation and security — cookies set by our hosting, caching and content-delivery providers so pages load quickly and the Site is protected from abuse. These cannot be switched off without affecting how the Site works.
- Analytics — tools such as Google Analytics that tell us, in aggregate, which pages are visited, how visitors arrive and how the Site performs. Where available we enable IP anonymization and do not combine analytics data with your name.
- Forms and messaging — the embedded forms, chat and scheduling tools we use may set cookies so a form remembers what you typed and so we can connect a submission to the page it came from.
We may also use advertising measurement tags (for example from Google or Meta) to understand whether our advertising brings people to the Site. If we do, those providers may set their own cookies subject to their policies.
Your choices. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; blocking all cookies may affect parts of the Site. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on and manage ad personalization through Google’s and Meta’s ad settings. The Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no common standard; we honor Global Privacy Control signals where a law requires it.
Phone Calls and Recordings
Calls to and from our business lines may be recorded or monitored for quality, training and record-keeping. Recordings are kept with the related job record and are accessible only to staff who need them. If you do not wish to be recorded, tell us at the start of the call and we will note your request, or contact us by email instead.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described above, and then for as long as we are required to by law or need to for legitimate business reasons. In practice:
- Job records — estimates, photographs, moisture logs, invoices and claim correspondence — are kept for the period required for tax, licensing, warranty and insurance purposes, typically several years after a job closes, and longer if a claim or dispute is open.
- Inquiries that do not become jobs are kept for a reasonable period so we can follow up if you contact us again, and then deleted or anonymized.
- Call recordings and text threads are retained with the related inquiry or job record.
- Website analytics is retained according to the analytics provider’s settings and is aggregated.
How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information — including encrypted connections to the Site, access controls on our business systems, and limiting access to staff and subcontractors who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by Georgia law and any other applicable law.
Please do not send payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, account passwords or other highly sensitive information by email or text.
Your Choices and Rights
- Texts — reply STOP to any message.
- Marketing email — use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or tell us. We will still send messages needed to perform a job you have hired us for.
- Phone — ask us not to call for marketing purposes and we will honor that.
- Cookies — see Section 6.
- Access, correction and deletion — you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will honor requests except where we need the information to complete a job, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Job records tied to an insurance claim generally must be retained.
- Photographs — you may ask us not to use images of your property for anything beyond documenting your job; we already require your separate permission for marketing use.
If you live in a state whose privacy law gives you additional rights (such as the right to know, delete, correct, or opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information), you may exercise those rights by contacting us as described in Section 14. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
Children
The Site and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not direct the Site to anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-Party Sites and Services
The Site links to and embeds services operated by others — maps, forms and scheduling tools, review platforms, social media and the websites we cite in our articles. Their privacy practices are their own, and this Policy does not cover them. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site or service you visit.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version here and update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, such as a notice on the Site or a message to the contact details we have for you.
