Water, Fire, Mold & Storm Damage Restoration for Johns Creek Homes, Subdivisions and Businesses

Johns Creek is straight up Medlock Bridge Road from our Norcross base — GA-141 runs from our door across the Chattahoochee into the middle of the city. When a 1990s supply line fails above a finished basement in Medlock Bridge, an upstairs laundry floods three floors of a home in St Ives, or a spring storm drops an oak on a roof in Rivermont, one team responds 24 hours a day and stays through cleanup, drying, repairs and full reconstruction.

Johns Creek is one of the 21 markets in our core service area — the golf-course communities, the swim-and-tennis subdivisions, the townhomes along State Bridge and the offices of Technology Park alike. (404) 983-0966, any hour.

Johns Creek Neighborhoods We Restore

Johns Creek grew from four crossroads villages into one of Georgia’s largest cities in a single generation — nearly all of it big-lot subdivisions built between 1980 and 2005.

  • Medlock Bridge — the 1980s–90s subdivisions along GA-141 that define the center of the city
  • St Ives & Sugar Mill — the country-club and swim-and-tennis communities off Medlock Bridge and State Bridge roads
  • Country Club of the South — the gated estate community on Old Alabama Road
  • Rivermont — the 1970s golf community along the river toward Roswell, the oldest neighborhood in the city
  • Shakerag & Abbotts Bridge — the river side toward Duluth and Rogers Bridge
  • Newtown & Ocee — the old crossroads villages on Old Alabama and Abbotts Bridge roads
  • Doublegate, Seven Oaks & The Falls of Autry Mill — the big 1980s–90s subdivisions west of Medlock Bridge
  • Bellmoore Park & Cauley Creek — the newest neighborhoods in the north along McGinnis Ferry
  • Technology Park & Emory Johns Creek — the 1,700-acre office park, the hospital and the corporate campuses
  • State Bridge & Medlock Bridge corridors — the townhome communities, shopping centers and restaurants
Why local knowledge matters

What Puts Johns Creek Properties at Risk

Big houses from the 1980s and ’90s have a lot of plumbing, a lot of basement and a lot of roof — and Johns Creek has 13 miles of river running along its edge.

  1. 1980s–90s plumbing in large homes

Medlock Bridge, Doublegate, Sugar Mill and their neighbors were built when polybutylene supply lines were standard in metro Atlanta. A 4,000-square-foot house has hundreds of feet of it, two or three water heaters, and an upstairs laundry room — so a failure on the second floor is a loss on three. See water damage repair.

  2. Finished basements everywhere

Nearly every Johns Creek subdivision home sits on a basement, and most of them are finished: bedrooms, bars, theaters, carpet. Failed sump pumps, water heaters downstairs, grading that sends storm water to the foundation and burst pipes in the ceiling above all land there. See basement flooding cleanup and mold remediation.

  3. The river, Johns Creek and Cauley Creek

Rivermont, Shakerag and the Abbotts Bridge neighborhoods back up to the Chattahoochee, and Johns Creek and Cauley Creek run through the middle of the city. Heavy rain means wet crawl spaces, flooded lower levels and sewer backups in the low lots. See water removal.

  4. Big roofs, big trees, spring storms

Thirty-year-old hardwoods now tower over the subdivisions, and the houses under them have complex roofs with a lot of valleys and flashing to fail. Storms bring tree strikes and water intrusion; kitchen and dryer fires round out the calls. See storm damage and fire & smoke damage.

A Few Things About Johns Creek

  • Named for a son

The city takes its name from a creek named for Johnson K. Rogers, son of settler John Rogers. Rogers’ 1828 home was an overnight stop for Andrew Jackson.

  • No ZIP of its own

Johns Creek became a city on December 1, 2006, but the Postal Service never gave it a ZIP code. More than 82,000 residents still get mail addressed to Duluth, Alpharetta or Suwanee.

  • Technology Park

In 1981, a group of Georgia Tech graduates bought 1,700 acres of farmland for an office park modeled on Peachtree Corners’ Technology Park. Alcon, Macy’s technology division and Emory Johns Creek Hospital are there today.

  • Major-championship golf

The Atlanta Athletic Club hosted the 2011 PGA Championship and the 2014 U.S. Amateur. Four more private courses — Country Club of the South, St Ives, Rivermont and The Standard Club — are inside the city.

  • 13.5 miles of river

The Chattahoochee borders Johns Creek for 13.5 miles, with shoals, trout fishing and the restored Rogers Bridge crossing to Duluth.

  • International Johns Creek

Nearly 30% of residents are Asian American, and the Johns Creek International Festival each April draws more than 20,000 people. The city is regularly ranked among the wealthiest and safest in Georgia.

Questions

Johns Creek Restoration FAQs

What ZIP code is Johns Creek? Do you serve all of them?

Johns Creek doesn’t have its own ZIP code. The city is covered by 30097 (a Duluth ZIP), 30022 and 30005 (Alpharetta ZIPs) and 30024 (a Suwanee ZIP). We serve every one of them, inside and outside the city limits, 24 hours a day.

How quickly can Verus get to Johns Creek?

Johns Creek is straight up Medlock Bridge Road (GA-141) from our Norcross base, across the river. We’re open around the clock; call or text (404) 983-0966 and we’ll give you an honest arrival window and tell you what to do in the meantime.

Water came through the ceiling from the upstairs laundry. How bad is it?

Worse than it looks, usually. Water that comes through a ceiling has soaked the subfloor, the joists, the insulation and the back of the drywall on the way down, and it keeps spreading sideways after the drip stops. We open what has to be opened, dry the structure with monitored equipment and document every reading for your claim, so the ceiling gets rebuilt once — and doesn’t grow mold behind the new paint.

My house was built in 1992. Should I be worried about polybutylene?

If the supply lines are gray plastic with crimp fittings, yes — have a plumber confirm. Polybutylene fails without warning, usually inside a wall or above a ceiling, so the first sign is a stain, a bubble in the paint or a jump in the water bill. Know where your main shut-off is, and if you find water, call us the same day; drying a wall cavity early is the difference between a repair and a rebuild.

Do you work with HOAs and gated communities?

Every day. We check in at the gate, coordinate with the association on exterior work and dumpsters, keep the site tidy, and document everything for both your policy and the HOA’s requirements. One point of contact for the whole loss.

What should I do first if I find water or fire damage in Johns Creek?

Make sure everyone is safe, stop the source if you can do so safely (shut off the main water valve; after a fire, don’t touch soot or run the HVAC), photograph the damage, and call (404) 983-0966. We’re on the way up GA-141.

Johns Creek is straight up GA-141 from our front door. When something goes wrong at your property, you shouldn’t have to explain the neighborhood — or which ZIP code you’re really in — to the people fixing it.
